And I loved everything he taught and explained. As I applied the teachings, I marveled at the ways that those teachings affected my life.

Read MoreWhere did it go? Thanksgiving flew by. Then there was the rush to get ready for Christmas. Christmas came and went in a storm, literally for us on the eastern slope of the Sierras. And figuratively as well, a storm of wrapping paper and ribbons, candy cane and sugar cookies, and ham dinner that lasted a blissfully long time. A beautiful storm of family visits and reconnecting with dear friends. And then the peace that comes after the torrent subsides.
